Whether or not you’re familiar with circus activities, our professional team of instructors can create a custom experience just for you, using whatever apparatus is best suited to your group.

Got a bunch of thrill-seekers? You’ll want some flying trapeze and/or teeterboard in the mix. Looking to go home with some gorgeous Instagram mementoes? Let’s include aerial silks. Just wanna have all kinds of fun? We’re all over that…we have years of expertise in the art of making hearts zing with joy!

No matter which circus arts you try, you’ll bond as a group as each of you is challenged at your own level, and supported by one another, under the guidance of our fantastic teachers.

Prices start from £299 for up to 9 people for 90 minutes of aerial and ground-based acrobatics. Saturdays are usually the best day for parties. We can make space on weekdays before our classes start in the evenings if we have enough notice.

FAQs

Q: What kind of parties do you offer?

A: The best kind! Aerial Edge’s speciality is flying trapeze, so those parties are popular, or you can choose to include two or three of these aerial and acrobatic arts:

  • Static trapeze
  • Silks
  • Hoop
  • Rope
  • Chinese or fly pole (these are not shiny steel poles)
  • Trampoline
  • Teeterboard (big see-saw with people standing at each end, bouncing each other and performing tricks in safety lines)
  • Tumbling, flips and tricks
  • Tightwire
  • Acrobalance (people holding balance positions on each other)
  • Bungee harness (bouncing acrobatics in a harness attached to elastic ropes)
  • Juggling

Aerial Edge is the only place in Scotland where you can do flying trapeze, and you can enjoy a fly party even if you’ve never done it before. You’ll be shown how to pull off impressive acrobatic tricks while swinging through the air – you’d be surprised how many people can do it straight away. We can bring in a catcher so that when you can let go of the bar after your trick and fly through the air, there’s someone dangling from the ceiling apparatus called a cradle, who will catch your arms and swing you some more! It’s all done in a harness and safety lines (unless you’re a seasoned flyer capable of going without them) so there’s nothing to fear. You can find out more in our [flying trapeze FAQ](https://aerialedge.co.uk/classes/2023/02/14/flying-trapeze-faq.html.

Q: Could these parties be used as team-building events?

A: You bet. The circus arts that would work best for this are the ones where you need to work together, or to be there for one another through the challenges and laughter. Acrobalance is an obvious choice because you’re literally holding each other up. Teeterboard is great because you have two people working together to get a rhythm going, or you have one person being fired into the air when two people jump on the other side of the see-saw, so that requires courage and timing.

Flying trapeze works well because it’s such a buzz. People get excited about each other’s successes and they empathise when someone else doesn’t perform their trick perfectly, because each person is individually challenged at whatever level of physical ability they have, so everyone’s trying to do it all better. People leave with a sense of satisfaction for themselves, pride in each other and an understanding that they can manage to do things that they hadn’t thought possible.

Q: What if I have a severe allergy?

A: Aerial Edge is a nut-free zone, populated by people with various allergies including gluten. We have students with other allergies so we are used to dealing with this.

Q: How long are the parties?

A: They can be 60 mins, 90 mins or two hours. We recommend for fly to go for a 90 min party to make sure you all get plenty of shots and practice before taking your tricks to catch.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Stretchy clothes that are easy to move in, or close-fitting clothes that won’t fall over your face when you’re upside down. Avoid items that might get caught in the apparatus, and please don’t go on our trampoline wearing anything metal, it wrecks the bed material. If you’re planning on doing some silks and rope, we recommend that you ditch your socks because climbing is much easier barefoot. If your feet get cold, you can always use socks, indoor shoes or slippers between your goes.

Q: Can we bring our own music?

A: Of course! We tend to host parties at times when there are no other students in the venue so feel free to connect to the speakers and play whatever you enjoy! Your instructors will be happy to help you do that.

Q: Can we have cake/food?

A: Yes! You are more than welcome to keep the party spirit going after your class, or to stop for a break in the middle. Due to staff time, this costs an extra £30-£50 depending on how long you want to stay. We also have facilities for making teas and a gourmet bean-to-cup coffee machine. We’re coffee lovers so it’s always a good brew.

Q: Are the parties just for kids?

A: Whaaaat?! Course not! Our parties (and all of our classes) are open to everyone! We cater for hen and stag parties, birthdays, anniversaries, work days out and basically any occasion that you want to celebrate.

Q: How many people can attend?

A: Group sizes usually range from 6-18, although we can cater for more. More participants require more staff, so this would increase the price for the time, but then it would be costing less per head. For fly parties, we generally recommend no more than 10 people, because you can only have one person flying at a time, and you’ll want to have plenty of goes to get the hang of it. People sometimes say they’ll only want to try one go – but it rarely turns out that way! Fly is addictively good fun (and great for all kinds of other reasons).

Q: How much are parties at Aerial Edge?

A: Prices depend on the type of party, how long you want it to last, and the amount of people participating. Flying trapeze parties are generally a little more expensive because they require more staff.

Q: How do I book a party?

A: Email info@aerialedge.co.uk with the following information:

  1. Number of people attending
  2. The circus arts you want to include (usually two or three tops)
  3. How long you want it to last
  4. If you have any specific requirements (allergies, disabilities, learning challenges etc)

We’ll get back to you asap with a price and once we’ve agreed what your party involves, we will send you a booking link.
