Scottish Circus Convention

Each year we look at our annual convention and decide what we can do to develop it for the people who love it and come back every year.

This year we are making some of the most radical changes we’ve ever made. From talking with many of our regular attendees we’ve seen more and more interest develop in intensive training for specific disciplines. We have also seen how circus has developed in Scotland since the very first convention we ran in 2008 and we need to develop with it to provide an event that continues to move circus forward and support our community.

This year we will focus on hosting a series of intensive workshops across the weekend with some of the world’s top teachers in each discipline. We are currently designing 12-hour and 6-hour intensives in the following disciplines: Rope, Flying Trapeze, hoop, straps, silks, harness, acrobalance, swinging trapeze, & Cyr wheel.

Each attendee will be able to book as little as 1 workshop or to attend all 24 hours of intensive training.

One new addition will be a day of talks and lectures aimed at circus performers and teachers on Thursday, September 3rd. We will release an initial timetable for early bird booking just after Easter, What we’d really like is your input and feedback to help us build this year’s event.
